The Dragon Village Elder (竜族族長, ryuuzoku zokuchou), as the name suggests, is the elder of the Dragonfolk Village.

Appearance[]

The Dragon Village Elder is very small, about half of Nina's height. She has brown skin, gray hair and usually keeps her golden eyes closed.

In her dragon form, she is three times larger.

Personality[]

The Dragon Village Elder is not very sociable and tends to fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. Once asleep, she cannot be woken up. The Village Elder is not mean, and tolerates the disrespectful and cheery nature of Nina Drango with a little more than an annoyed frown. She is very kind as she had chosen to help carry the gods back to their homeland following the war with Bahamut. She also helps Nina and Jeanne d'Arc travel there supposedly without needing to be told why.

History[]

The Village Elder is very old, being at least 2,000 years old. She was alive when Bahamut fought against the gods and demons, forcing Zeus and Satan to sacrifice themselves to seal Bahamut away. The surviving gods who were injured were found by the Village Elder, who kindly flew them back up to their land up in the sky.

This journey was remembered by the Village Elder's people, and became the reason why Nina Drango sought her out as a means to reach the land of the gods. The Village Elder was approached by Nina and Jeanne d'Arc. She explained what had occurred 2,000 years ago, but fell asleep shortly after, forcing the two women to wait until the next day for her to wake up.

By morning, the Village Elder was ready to carry them up to the heavens. She promptly transformed and allowed the two women to ride on her back.

Power & Abilities[]

  • Long-livity: The Dragon Village Elder is extremely old, yet is still capable of transforming at will, maintaining her small village and recalling past events without fault. Her age has left with a frail and small appearance, and may be the reason why she fall asleep so often.
  • Dragon Shifting: Due to her lineage, the Dragon Village Elder can morph into a dragon that is approximately three times larger than her human form. She can fly long distances right up into the land of the gods.

Trivia[]

  • Some fans mistaken her as Nina's grandmother because Nina referred to her as "Granny". This is simply a way of calling an elderly person.
  • The Dragon Village Elder's dragon form appears in every episode as the title card. This fact was revealed in Virgin Soul Episode 14.
