Jeanne rounds up an army of demons, humans, and angels to declare war on the king. As she leads the army to battle, Kaisar, together with Dias, tell Jeanne the truth regarding Mugaro's death. Despite their plea to stop her, she concludes that even though the king had not personally murdered her son, he still targeted Mugaro and continues to move on. While Jeanne and her army attack Anatae, Nina and Favaro manage to track down Charioce and the ancient device to confront him. When Nina fights Charioce and holds him down to cut off his wrist to remove the bracelet, she is unable to do so. Tearfully, she plunged the sword into his sleeve. Favaro aims his weapon towards Charioce to demand the truth. It is revealed that all the things that he had done was in preparation to resurrect Bahamut and slay him, even at the cost of his own life. Before the seal was broken, Favaro understood that even if Charioce XVII did give the order to kill Nina (which he did), he wouldn't be able to bring himself to kill Nina at the ball and instead, he let Nina escape from the guards at the ball. He also understood that if Charioce XVII wanted to kill El so badly (which he did), he wouldn't have given Jeanne a chance that would spare El, the gods, and humans from the bloodshed the war would've cost. Getting no answer from Charioce, Charioce XVII later tells them to leave, if they don't want to die. As the device explodes, Nina and Favaro escape and look on as Bahamut returns.

** Fans speculate this statement was the writer and producers' way of making fans more sympathetic towards Charioce, a character they consider "pure-hearted".

*Favaro goes on to say Charioce did nothing to instigate the war with the gods, even though Charioce was shown in [[Virgin Soul Episode 11|Episode 11]] telling [[Gabriel]] to use force against him if she wanted to retrieve what he stole from her.
